Acupuncture is an ancient healing method that has been practiced in China for thousands of years. It is rooted in the concept of Qi (pro-nounced “chee”). Qi is the life force, the vital energy that is necessary and present in all living things. When Qi is abundant and flowing smoothly, the body is in a state of health. Sickness, disease and pain arise if the flow becomes blocked, depleted, or flows in the wrong direction. Acupuncture uses very fine needles to access and manipulate this flow, thus bringing the body back into a state of balance and health. Chinese herbs are often used in conjunction with acupuncture to help the body achieve this balance.
